WHS Care Center for Family Birth and Women’s Health is offering FREE online learning modules on childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, and newborn care including lots of videos. Based on the recommendations from the CDC and DOH, we are taking every precaution to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, and have postponed all in-person prenatal classes until further notice.

The CARE Center for Family Birth and Women’s Health, on the 5th floor of the WHS Washington Hospital, has 13 private postpartum and recovery rooms that are utilized for obstetrical and gynecological patients, as well as five labor and delivery suites, a surgical delivery room and a brand new nursery which includes a level 2 special care area for infants with special monitoring needs, plus a brand new lobby. WHS Washington Hospital is the only hospital in Washington and Greene counties delivering babies, with approx. 1000 babies born each year.
Some of the new features include:
- a Neonatal Resuscitation team at every delivery
- a level 2 special care nursery
- larger patient rooms
- larger bathrooms
- more furnished space for families
- Bluetooth speakers in the rooms, for custom playlists
- complimentary snacks and drinks for parents & family members
- and more
The new CARE Center for Family Birth and Women’s Health allows our patients to have an aesthetically pleasing environment that matches the level of high quality care we have always provided at WHS.
