This includes a wide range of respiratory disorders, including: asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, black lung, pulmonary fibrosis, and lung cancer.
At UPMC Washington Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery our physicians offer superb evidence based clinical evaluations, diagnosis and treatment services to patients with health problems such as: Asthma, acute and chronic pulmonary emboli, bronchiectasis, emphysema, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, sarcoidosis, granulomatous lung disease, pulmonary vascular diseases, and pulmonary infections. We are skilled in Navigational Bronchoscopy, an emerging procedure that allows us to access lung abnormalities and masses in a minimally invasive manner. We also offer cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) that assesses your cardiovascular pulmonary systems contributions to symptoms like dyspnea. Other tests and procedures include Bronchoscopy, Methacholine Challenge test, pulmonary function assessment (PFT), a Six-minute walk test and oximetry.
