Psychiatry

  • Hospital owned position – potentially switching to Private Practice (but still working with same physician & associated very closely to hospital)
  • Inpatient & outpatient coverage
  • Will see between 15-20 patients per day, and divide time between inpatient work at hospital and seeing patients at outpatient clinic
  • Practice has locations in Washington and Waynesburg
  • No Drug & Alcohol treatment requirements at this time

Family Medicine – Outpatient only

  • At hospital owned practices in McMurray, PA (4 physicians, 1 NP, 1 PA) or California, PA (1 F-T physician, P-T physician, 1 PA)

Family Medicine Faculty

Our Family Medicine Centers located in Canonsburg, Cecil, and Washington provide quality, family-oriented, primary care at convenient locations.  We provide general health examinations, care for minor emergencies, accidents, and acute and chronic illnesses.  We also provide care in obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics.  Washington Health System’s Family Medicine Centers are staffed by board-certified family medicine physicians and family medicine residents who are committed to providing high quality family medical care.  These are academic medical practices operated by the Washington Health System Family Medicine Residency Program, a three-year training program for family medicine physicians.  Full-time, board-certified physicians are on staff at each center and supervise the resident physicians.

  • Clinical direct care & academic responsibilities with dually accredited Washington Health System FM Residency Program (3 year program with 21 total residents), assigned based on board certification and/or experience
  • 3 Options for Coverage:
    • 100% outpatient only
    • Traditional inpatient & outpatient with 20% teaching
    • Traditional inpatient & outpatient with women’s health interest including colposcopy, birth control methods, & low-risk Obstetrics
  • Call: 2-3 times/month, weekends every 6-8 weeks
  • D.O. or M.D.

ACADEMIC PALLIATIVE MEDICINE – Fellowship Director

Washington Health System, a not-for-profit community hospital located in Washington, PA, is seeking a Board Certified Palliative Medicine Physician to join an established palliative/hospice service. This unique opportunity is open to an enthusiastic candidate interested in enhancing a quality palliative medicine program while leading a fellowship training program.

Duties to include…

  • Inpatient consultation service averaging 8-10 patients per day
  • Continue development of outpatient services
  • Recruitment of fellowship candidates
  • Develop and direct the approved Fellowship in accordance with the general and specialty-specific regulations
  • Shared call with up to 4 other providers

  • Prefer 2 years post graduate clinical experience

Academic Geriatric Medicine

We are looking for a Geriatric Medicine physician to continue to develop and oversee the Geriatric Fellowship program at WHS – with the potential of becoming Fellowship Director.  The program is designed to provide family medicine and internal medicine residency graduates with the unique clinical skills, knowledge and experiences necessary for delivering high quality care to the growing geriatric population.

  • 60% clinical & 40% academics with Geriatric Fellowship program (1 fellow per year), Palliative Medicine Fellowship (1 Fellow) and the dually accredited Washington Health System Residency Program (3 year program with 21 total residents)

General Cardiology

WHS Cardiovascular Care offers a comprehensive array of diagnostic and treatment services to residents of Allegheny, Washington, Greene and neighboring counties, with offices conveniently located in Washington, Waynesburg, Cecil and McMurray.

  • Practice Information: 4 offices with main office in Washington, PA
  • Number of Physicians: 8
  • Support Staff: 3 full time NPs, 3 part time NPs, 1 PA
  • Shared Call: Every 6th day, Every 3rd or 4th weekend

All partners have inpatient & outpatient responsibilities as well as outreach. All partners read echos & EKG reports. This position will see on average 25 patients per day. It requires 2 office days per week at the Washington office as well as one other office location.

Located in Washington, Pennsylvania with multiple outpatient sites throughout Washington and Greene counties, Washington Health System has 265 beds in addition to a 16-bassinet nursery and an 8-bed residential hospice.
