Washington Health System Cancer Care provides a coordinated program of care encompassing surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, inpatient care, hospice and palliative care, mammography, education, support groups, and more. This includes prevention, detection, treatment, support and education. All are a vital part of the process.
Washington Health System Cancer Center is in partnership with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center to bring state-of-the-art radiation therapy, improved diagnostic capabilities, and other support services to residents in our communities. With this partnership, patients have convenient access to treatments, such as respiratory gating and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), the most advanced radiation therapy available, as well as the full resources of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center facilities, without always having to travel. As part of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center network, one of the largest integrated cancer networks in the nation, and western Pennsylvania’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, patients have access to the latest cancer treatment trials, as well as the research activities at UPMC.
