Lauren O’Brien, MD is the Director of Graduate Medical Education at Washington Health System. Dr. O’Brien is a Family Physician and serves as the Program Director for the Family Medicine Residency Program at Washington Health System. Dr. O’Brien maintains an active clinical practice at WHS-Family Medicine-Cecil. She is the Senior Medical Director for the Washington Physician Hospital Organization and is a member of the Bridges Health Partners Accountable Care Organization and Clinically Integrated Network Board of Directors. Dr. O’Brien also sits on several committees for UPMC Health Plan.

A lifelong Pennsylvanian, Dr. O’Brien grew up in the North Hills area. She completed her undergraduate education at Allegheny College and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Drexel University before moving to Washington to complete her residency training at Washington Health System. Dr. O’Brien also completed the National Institute of Program Director Development Fellowship. Dr. O’Brien and her husband live in Cecil Township with their two school-aged sons and two dogs. Dr. O’Brien is an avid reader and enjoys cooking. She and her family love to travel, hike and kayak, and on most weekends the O’Brien family can be found at the soccer fields.
