In accordance with PA Department of Health guidelines, Washington Health System received COVID vaccine quantities sufficient to offer the vaccine to our health system employees and medical staff that are in the categories defined by the state department of health. We have implemented our vaccination plan which is expected to be on-going for the next several weeks due to the number of employees and medical staff that we have across our health system. The Department of Health is expected to release the details for immunizing persons outside of category 1a and 1b healthcare workers and non-front line health care workers later today. Following that announcement we hope that there will be information about how and where others in the community can obtain the vaccination. At this point, Washington Health System does not have the supplies or guidance from the state for immunizing other categories of persons or the general public. As circumstances may change in the future, Washington Health System will continue to monitor the situation and following the guidance from the PA Department of Health.
