About your job: Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center Operations Director

How long have you been employed at WHS? I have been happily employed for about 7 years now.

Was it always in the same department? I started off as the maintenance supervisor at WRCWC when I first started. I have been grateful to have evolved in my position. As the operations director I am now able to work closely with many departments such as Aquatics, kids programming, child care, housekeeping and maintenance.

What extra duties have you taken on during COVID 19? I have been grateful to be able to help and continue to work in any fashion necessary during COVID-19. Each day is different and an opportunity to learn new things, from selling spa products to talking to members or working on the pools. Each day is presented with new challenges and opportunities.

Education: Bachelors in Criminal Law and Procedure from Gannon University

Hobbies outside of work: Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife, Tanya, and son, Brody. We all enjoy spending time outside whether it is boating, gardening or just sitting by a fire with friends and family. I also enjoy woodworking on specialty projects when time permits.

Family, pets, etc? I have been married to my wife, Tanya, going on 3 years now. We first met at the Wellness Center. Our son Brody (19) is currently studying HVAC at Penn Commercial. We also have a loveable Pitbull named Carl.

What are you grateful for?

I am grateful for my family, they truly make my day every single time I see them. With them there is always fun, laughter, and moments to always look forward too.

What radio station or kind of music do you listen to on in your car?

I normally listen to country in the car, but can really listen to anything that’s on.

If you could choose one household chore that you would never have to do again, what would it be and why?

Washing Dishes!

Tell us about your most memorable “my co-workers are awesome” story.

The entire team at the Wellness Center is truly awesome! They will do anything for each other and the community. Just to see all of them selflessly give back to the community is always amazing. They will do anything from collecting food for the Humane Society to wearing silly pink outfits and riding on our spin bikes to raise money for breast cancer. This team will always do whatever it takes, and they do so with true passion and grit.

What do you want to tell people about the WHS Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center?

The Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center is truly a great place. A lot of people see it as “just a gym,” but it is so much more than that. The Wellness Center is a place that can help you change your life in so many ways. There is so much to offer for everyone here from learning about the mindset of achieving your health goals, nutrition consultations, personal training, aquatics, spa treatments and so much more. The Wellness Center to me is a place you can achieve your goals whether it is your mind, body or spirit; all while being supported by a community of people along that path.
