Name: Brent Angott, D.O.

Tell me about yourself?

About your job: I am a General Surgeon, the Medical Director of TriState Surgical since 2019, and the Chief of General Surgery at Washington Health System since 2012. I am also President of Angott Surgical Associates since 2003.

Education: Trinity High School, Westminster College, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Surgical residency Pinnacle Health, Harrisburg Pa

Hobbies outside of work: I enjoy fishing/hunting, golf, and gardening. I also like going to high school and college football games.

Family, pets, etc? My wife, Kimberly Angott, and I have dated since high school. We started my practice, Angott Surgical Associates, together, and she is still employed by the practice. She is very active in the community, and is currently serving as treasurer on the board for Canon Mac Football.

We have three children: Nathan, Ryan and Allison. Nathan is a senior in high school, and plans on attending college at the University of Utah to major in accounting and personal finance. Ryan is a high school junior at Canon Mac, where he plays as a half back on the football team and as a midfielder on the lacrosse team. Allison is attending middle school at Canon Mac, where she is a cheerleader and cross country runner.

Our two dogs are Lily, a Morky, and Daisy, a German Shorthair Pointer (aka a handful).

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

As a child I had the usual dreams of playing sports for a living!

Why did you decide to do the work you do now?

When I was in high school, I was introduced to the thought of becoming a physician by my girlfriend, Kim, who later became my wife. My cousin, Dr Campsey, introduced me to Westminster College. My Dad was very mechanical and good with his hands, so General Surgery was very natural to me.

If you were given a free plane ticket to visit anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

If I could go anywhere, probably Machu Picchu. I love the outdoors and would love to hike the Inca Trail.

What skill or talent would you most like to learn or improve?

The skill that I would most like to master is parenting. Holy cow is that hard!!!

Who is the funniest person in your family?

My kids are the funniest people in my family. They are extremely unique, and can baffle your mind at any particular moment.

What do you want to tell the public about COVID-19 or healthcare in general?

I want the public to know that it is safe to seek care through your physician’s office and specialists.  It’s important to continue to go to health screenings, regular check-ups and more.

COVID-19 didn’t send a message to breast cancer, colon cancer, bladder cancer, infections or fractures to wait until this is all over. Especially when it comes to cancer, it’s important to act quickly and catch it in early stages.

Our offices, Angott Surgical Associates and Tri-State Surgery Center, are dedicated to keeping our patients safe by follows all CDC guidelines.
