Peterson, Bridget K., MD

Bridget Peterson, M. D., is a board-certified family physician born and raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. She attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio for her undergraduate degree. She completed her medical school education and residency training at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. As a student, she spent much of her out-of-class time leading Jefferson’s network of student-run free clinics for people experiencing homelessness. As a resident, she participated in the Urban Underserved Program, a training track that includes continuity of care in a North Philadelphia Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

After residency Dr. Peterson joined the National Health Service Corps, a federal program which works to bring primary care to underserved communities. She moved to southern Arizona and spent two years practicing rural family medicine on the Tohono O’Odham Nation, seventy miles west of Tucson.

Dr. Peterson’s main clinical interests include women’s health and family planning, mental health, and substance abuse treatment and recovery. She is very excited to return home to Pennsylvania and join the Washington Health System Family Medicine Center staff, at their Cecil location.
