Varghese, Rekhi, MD
Dr. Rekhi Varghese recently joined our WHS Cardiovascular Care practice. Dr. Varghese attended medical school at Sri Devraj Urs Medical College at Bangalore University of India. He completed an internship and residencies in India and Saudi Arabia, rotating through various specialties and assisting with surgeries.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Varghese worked as a research assistant in the Department of Hematology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He completed a residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in both the Department of Cardiology and Department of Interventional Cardiology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Since 2011 he has worked in the Department of Cardiology at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, OH as an interventional Cardiologist.
Dr. Varghese is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. He holds medical licenses in both Pennsylvania and Ohio.
When not working, Dr. Varghese loves spending time with his wife and children, traveling, listening to music and playing tennis.
