You may have recently received a notice from Aetna Insurance telling you that Washington Health System Inpatient Services and Emergency Care Physicians of Washington will no longer be a participating provider of Aetna Insurance products effective July 1, 2024.
There is NO NEED FOR YOU TO DO ANYTHING. All Washington Hospital and WHS-Greene services along with their physician and advanced practice providers will continue to accept all Aetna Insurance Products after July 1, 2024 just as we do today.
Washington Health System Inpatient Services and Emergency Care Physicians of Washington are the names of the physician groups that currently provide emergency department and hospitalist services at both Washington Hospital and WHS-Greene. Envision Physician Services is not going to provide physician services anywhere in Pennsylvania after July 1, 2024 due to their corporate restructuring. This includes Washington Health System.
Emergency Medicine and Inpatient Hospitalist Services will continue to be provided at Washington Hospital and WHS-Greene after July 1, 2024 through an agreement with University of Pittsburgh Physicians. (UPP). University of Pittsburgh Physicians are in network with Aetna and all of the insurances that WHS accepts. Most of the same providers that you have known and trusted for your emergency department and inpatient care will continue with Washington Health System in this new and exciting arrangement. There is no interruption in service and no impact to your Aetna Insurance coverage.
If you have any questions about your particular insurance product coverage, we encourage you to contact Aetna Insurance directly or your Washington Health System provider for additional information.
