What began as a trip for a concert turned into a powerful story of compassion, connection, and giving back.

While visiting the Washington area from out of state to attend a Journey concert, a patient unexpectedly became ill and required admission to UPMC Washington. During his stay, he experienced the kind of care that leaves a lasting impression thanks in part to Resource Pool Care Partner, Delaney Carlisle.

Delaney’s compassion and dedication stood out during a difficult and unexpected time. Grateful for the care he received, the patient chose to turn that appreciation into meaningful action by making a generous gift to the Washington Greene Health Foundation in her honor.

In a touching full-circle moment, he directed his gift to the OB Unit; the very place where Delaney is preparing to welcome her second son this May!

This story is a powerful reflection of how exceptional care can inspire generosity that extends far beyond a single patient experience. Because of donors like this, and caregivers like Delaney, we are able to continue advancing health and wellness throughout our community.

You can make an impact, too.
If you or a loved one has received exceptional care from a doctor, nurse, or any other healthcare worker, consider making a gift in honor of the caregivers who made a difference in your health journey. Tribute gifts are a meaningful way to express gratitude while supporting the programs, services, and people who make compassionate care possible every day.
