Tolin, Julia C., DPM

Dr. Julia C. Tolin is a foot and ankle specialist at UPMC Washington. She joined the practice after completing a three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA) training at UPMC Mercy, where she received comprehensive training in complex foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, sports medicine, diabetic limb salvage, deformity correction, and the management of arthritic conditions.

Born and raised in Connecticut, Dr. Tolin attended Susquehanna University, where she competed as a collegiate soccer player while completing her undergraduate studies. She graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors in Biology and Philosophy before earning her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where she graduated near the top of her class. During medical school, she held multiple leadership positions, received academic and clinical honors, and was inducted into a professional honor society.

She is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. Dr. Tolin is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). She remains engaged in academic medicine through peer-reviewed publications, national conference presentations, and journal peer review, and continues her involvement with the UPMC Mercy podiatry residency program, where she contributes to the mentorship and education of future foot and ankle surgeons.

Dr. Tolin is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care with a focus on restoring mobility, relieving pain, and helping patients return to the activities that matter most to them. Outside of medicine, she enjoys playing soccer, golf, and tennis, as well as traveling, exploring independent restaurants, and attending live music events with friends and family.
