Washington Health System Cancer Care provides a coordinated program of care encompassing surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, inpatient care, hospice and palliative care, mammography, education, support groups, and more. This includes prevention, detection, treatment, support and education. All are a vital part of the process.
Washington Health System Cancer Center is in partnership with UPMC Cancer Centers to bring state-of-the-art radiation therapy, improved diagnostic capabilities and other support serves to residents in our communities. With this partnership, patients have convenient access to treatments, such as respiratory gating and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), the most advanced radiation therapy available, as well as the full resources of UPMC Cancer facilities, without always having to travel. As part of the UPMC Cancer Centers network, UPMC and Washington Health System Cancer Center is an associated clinical program of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Patients have access to the latest cancer treatment trials, as well as the research activities at UPMC.
